Delete your account

You can delete your account and everything you have saved at any time. There are two ways to do it, and both delete exactly the same things.

From the app

This is the quickest route: deletion is immediate and you do not have to wait for a reply.

1. Open Rushing Wind and sign in.
2. Go to Profile and tap the settings icon (the gear, top right).
3. Under Account, tap Delete my account.
4. Confirm. You will be warned that the action cannot be undone.

Without the app installed

Write to soporte@therushingwind.org from the same email address you registered with, saying that you want your account deleted.

We ask that the message comes from that address because it is the only way to verify that the request comes from the account holder: if we accepted requests from any address, anyone could delete someone else's account.

We handle the request within a maximum of 30 calendar days, and usually in under 7. We will confirm by email once it is done.

What is deleted

Permanently deleted, with no way to recover it:

• Your sign-in account.
• Your profile picture.
• Your saved verses.
• Your highlights.
• Your personal notes.
• Your reading progress, streak, and statistics.

What is kept, and why

Some information is not deleted when you close your account, and we would rather tell you clearly before you do it:

• Organizations you registered, with their data and documents. Other people may belong to them.
• People you invited and the data you recorded about them. That is not your data: it belongs to third parties, and deleting it because you leave would affect their own rights.
• Reaches you recorded, with their count, date, and location.
• Congregation membership history: a record remains of who belonged to each one and on what dates.
• Technical and security records generated automatically by our providers, and the system's operations log.

If you want any of that deleted as well, write to soporte@therushingwind.org. We will assess it case by case, taking into account the rights of the other people involved, and respond within a maximum of 20 business days.

If there is a legal obligation to keep specific information, we will keep only what is strictly required, for as long as that obligation demands.

The Bible is still yours

The biblical text lives inside the app and does not depend on having an account. You can keep reading after deleting it; what you lose is what you had saved.
